Sign ups have ended for the Scavenger Hunt Event, and we want to thank everyone who enrolled!
Gurdy (and his brother, Hurdy) is located at his own blog so that he may send you poems, clues to help you search for the treasure! Each week Gurdy will continue to give you poems, and by the end of the first portion, on 30th of March, if you can guess exactly where it is that Gurdy is hinting at (a game locale), then you will gain an extra 25 gil as a bonus!
To be considered active in it, you must at least begin the roleplay to search for the treasure, and any may freely join. Those who join you will continue to the second portion of the event so long as they are with you, so you won’t be partnerless when we move on to the next section!
If you have any questions, be sure to ask Gurdy, FFU, or the Moogle Workshop! We’ll be happy to help!
This month’s prompt is called Decem, and despite the misleading banner, it actually does have to do with the number ten! The idea is to create ten different ten-word stories to ten separate themes/prompts. Here is the list:
But you don’t necessarily need to fill each prompt with just a ten-word sentence. They can be phrases a character says, or it can be more than one (very short) sentence. They can even be sequels, or maybe a whole story could be written with each one being a ten-word sentence!
"I can’t imagine something cooler, Freya!"
"Relax, Zell, it’ll happen."
Cecil swears revenge as he brings Rosa’s broken body home.
(Contractions count as one word, no problem!)
Each one is worth 7 gil, for a max of 70 gil, and you can pick and choose whichever ones you want to do, if you don’t feel like doing them all! Give it a shot, and tag it with #FFU Prompts so we can read it and tally your earnings for creativity!
"Some day I will be queen, but I will always be myself."
This is just an announcement to remind everyone that signups for the March Scavenger Hunt Event will end in two days on Saturday, 8 March, at about 0:00 (midnight) UTC/GMT!
Because we feel we didn’t give enough information, here are some things that might help!
Please be aware that since it’s a two-part event, the second portion won’t be open to anyone who doesn’t sign up! It’s a little strange, but it’s a special event! Sign up soon if it sounds interesting!
Hope to see you then, kupo!
The Moogle Workshop
"Wings symbolize freedom for those who have none. They don’t symbolize monsters."
"Don’t run. Lets fight it together. We can help each other, I know we can. I guess that only works for real families."
Here are the results of last week’s minigame! The following participants received their prize. Check the gil bank for added changes!
The last one was a very difficult one! The answers are under the cut.
A man with a red coat and tall hat with curled light brown hair greets you in a polite fashion and introduces himself as Gurdy, a traveler who is requesting your help…for a price.
"You see, I’ve written a new poem—an epic of sorts—and I request your help to solve its mysteries. Oh, often enough, these strange verses pop up in my head in sleep—nothing out of the ordinary for Gurdy! But they are obviously directions of some kind.
"I assume each stanza mentions a place, and to be sure, each of these places is dangerous! I’m afraid I’ve never taken well to sword…but you look like you are a warrior worth their coin."
He attempts to sell you these verses for the hefty price of 10,000 gil, and when it becomes obvious you aren’t the richest of travelers, he gives you an offer that’s hard to resist.
"Fair enough, stranger! We’ll make a deal. Whatever sort of treasure you find at the end of your journey in this—shall we call it—Scavenger Hunt, we’ll split it between us, four parts to one. That seems fair for all your hard work and my humble poems.
"Do you accept the luck of the Clavat?”
Our March event is here! This event requires your character to look through a dungeon to find a treasure at the end. It’s a very special treasure, although Gurdy doesn’t really appear to know that. The Scavenger Hunt is enrollment only, which means that you must let either FFU or the Moogle Workshop know your intention to join! Sign-ups end next Saturday, the 8th of March. Gurdy will give you the details then!
PLEASE NOTE: This is a two-part event. Due to the nature of the second portion, you may NOT partake in the next portion if you do not sign up for the event at this time.
